“THE HOME OF HOPE”

Association the "Wings of Hope" has to buy the group house "THE HOME OF HOPE" - a realestate property in Sigulda municipality called "Kārkli". This property is the only home for 14 people with mental disabilities. Charity campaign "HOME OF HOPE" aims to buy this property so that the young people can keep their home.

For six years now, young people with mental disabilities have called the group house their HOME. It is located in the Sigulda district of "Kārkli". In order for the young people to have the opportunity to stay in their home, they need the warmth of your heart, your good thoughts, your participation and your donation. For some young people, this is their only home. Together they have done a lot of work at the house - landscaping, a farm that the young people take care of themselves, a garden and surroundings, and a woodworking workshop.

We have only one option - to buy the property.

SUPPORT FOR THE NEW DAY CENTRE IN SIGULDA

Life circumstances have led us to decide to look for other premises, and we have found them. The premises for our services need cosmetic renovation to create a safe and pleasant environment. The renovation work has started and we can do a lot ourselves, but your help is also very much needed, either by donating materials or by giving financial support.

At this time, we would be grateful if you could support one of these rooms:

- Weavers workshop - 39.9 sq.m. A place where charming household items - carpets - are made from recycled materials. Textiles donated by the public are cut into strips and rolled into balls. The yarns are used as raw material for the carpets on the wooden looms.

- Montessori / speech therapy room - 21.9 sq.m. Using various Montessori equipment, motor skills, speech and thinking skills are trained. Classes are individual for both adults and children.

- Ceramics workshop - 21.5 sq.m. The ceramics workshop produces beautiful vessels, which are highly appreciated by our customers and of which we are very proud. The workshop produces plates, bowls, mugs, vases and other ceramic products. They are handmade, baked, glazed, fired, gold-finished and baked again in a special ceramic kiln.

- Candle/soap workshop - 25.6 sq.m. This workshop is where most of the adult members work. The candles are made by breaking different coloured paraffin wafers. The broken pieces are filled into moulds and filled with hot paraffin.

- Occupational therapist / handicraft room - 11.2 sq.m. An occupational therapist works with the participants once a week. At other times the room is used for crafts - silk painting, felting, beading, papercrafts, and other creative activities.

- Art therapy room - 11.3 sq.m.

- Childcare room - 40.9 sq.m. Childcare and supervisors organise time together on weekdays from 9.00 - 18.00.

- Physiotherapy room - 26.1 sq.m. Individual and group therapy is provided every working day from 9.00 - 18.00.

- We will place a plaque with the name and logo of the sponsor, or a message of your choice, in each room sponsored by a company.

- We offer to create together a communication plan thanking you for your company's support on our social media networks, web pages.
